My suggestion would be to either look for a position in a company that is applying lean and agile, or create a small group in your current company that does. Get some education to gain the basics, but since both lean and agile require a mindset shift the best training is on the job training. Bring in people that have done it and not just written about it. Look for people who recognize they don’t have it all figured out, but are constantly trying to learn and improve.
And, most importantly, be open minded. Recognize that there are other ways to deliver value than just waterfall, and be open to learning and trying.
